TFI Camp Scholarship Program

 

Christian Summer Camps are an amazing opportunity for kids to grow in Christ, develop community, and have a lot of fun! They can also be a wonderful opportunity for incoming TFI Fellows to serve, grow in leadership, and earn some income prior to their Fellows year. TFI has partnered with multiple Christian Camps that not only provide a salary for the summer before your Fellows year, but also provide scholarships toward your Fellows program fee.

In the summer of 2023, Brianna Nalley worked at Camp Greystone and then joined the Louisville Bridge Fellows Class of ‘24. Of her experience, she says, "As Fellows we have to juggle many different responsibilities and activities. My time at Greystone taught me to be flexible and kind. Everyone gets tired, and sometimes things are a bit stressful, but God is faithful!”

How Does It Work?

 

As a camp counselor, you will earn a salary for the summer. In addition, if you follow the application steps laid out by the camp, you will also earn a scholarship toward your Fellows Program Fee. To qualify for any of the scholarship programs, you must work at the camp for the entire summer prior to your Fellows program year.

 

Each camp has its own scholarship program. The summer salary, scholarship amount, and steps to apply for the scholarship are unique to each camp. To qualify for a scholarship, you must follow the steps required by the camp during the application process. If you are in doubt, please contact the camp for more information BEFORE submitting your application to be a counselor. All questions should be directed to the camp staff. TFI is not able to answer detailed questions about each camp's scholarship program.

Camp Greystone

Zirconia, North Carolina

  • Camp for girls ages 7-17

  • Hiring female junior and senior counselors

​

Scholarships are available to junior and senior camp counselors who are on track to be a Fellow in a TFI Fellows program. You do not need to be admitted, but you need to be intentionally seeking to be a Fellow. In addition to your summer salary as a counselor, Camp Greystone will provide $3000 per summer served towards your TFI Fellows program fee. If you work at Camp Greystone for two summers, you can earn up to $6000 toward your TFI Fellows program fee.

  2. Under June, Main, and August New Staff Application click “Apply Here”.

  3. Fill in the required fields and when you get to the question “How did you hear about us?” put in the space “TFI, and I'm interested in the scholarship” as your answer.

  4. After you finish all the questions click “Submit Application”

Camp Rockmont

Black Mountain, North Carolina

 

  • Camp for boys ages 6-16

  • Hiring male and female summer staff​

Scholarships are available to summer staff who have already committed to being a Fellow in a TFI Fellows program. Camp Rockmont will provide the equivalent of half of your Fellows program fee per summer served. In other words, 100% of your Fellows program fee will be covered if two summers are served at Rockmont.

  2. Click “Apply Today” on their website

  3. Fill in the required fields and when you get to the dropdown box that asks “How did you hear about us?” select “The Fellows Initiative” option

  4. After you finish all the questions click “Submit Application”

Falling Creek Camp

  • Camp for boys in grades 1-11

  • Hiring male summer staff​

Scholarships are available for staff who are on track to be a Fellow in a TFI Fellows program. Falling Creek Camp will provide a $1,500 scholarship toward your Fellows program fee for one summer served.

  2. Click “Apply for Summer 2024”

  3. On the Staff Application page click “2024 New Staff Interest Form”

  4. When you get to the question “How did you hear about Falling Creek?” put in the space “TFI, and I'm interested in the scholarship” as your answer

  5. When you have completed the application, click “Submit Application”
