About the Come & See
In 2006, the year TFI was launched, there were just four fellows programs. Today, there are dozens of programs spreading across the United States. Our mission is to continue expanding the fellows phenomenon to new churches and new cities. If you are interested in forming a new fellows program, a great way to learn more is by attending one of our introductory events called the TFI Come & See.
We offer scheduled Come & See events in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area twice per year, in April and September. We will also bring the Come & See training event to your church or city if that is easier for you.
Each Come & See event will explain the model and structure of a successful fellows program, approaches to teaching and discipleship, internship and housing strategies, staffing, recruitment, financials and all of the other aspects of running a program. The Come & See is intended to be an introduction to the fellows concept and also a significant step in the discernment process.
Come & See Schedule
DAY 1: 12:30p - 8:30p (including lunch and dinner)
DAY 2: 8:30a - 3:00p (including breakfast and lunch)
The TFI Come & See is hosted at The Falls Church Anglican in Falls Church, VA, just inside the Washington, DC Beltway. Falls Church is close to Reagan National Airport, but also an easy drive from Dulles International Airport, so either one is an easy option. The Falls Church Anglican is not within walking distance of a Metro stop, so we do recommend renting a car for this event. There are several hotels in the McLean/Tysons/Falls Church/Arlington area that are within easy driving distance. A hotel list will be provided in your registration confirmation email.
The TFI Come & See costs $245 per person, which includes meals and a printed participant guidebook.
What You Will Learn
The TFI Come & See is intended to help you understand all of the major components of a fellows program. This is an ideal training program for churches that are deciding whether or not to launch a fellows program. It is also ideal for churches that have already decided to launch a program, but are still working through details of what is required to get it started. Basically, we strongly encourage every group thinking about starting, or preparing to start, a fellows program to attend this training program. The program includes four in-depth workshops as well as lectures/discussion on the following topics:

- Getting Ready to Launch (including a Readiness Assessment Workshop)
- Program Strategy and Structure (including a Program Vision Workshop)
- Program Leadership
- The Essential Elements of a Fellows Program
- The Program Calendar (including a Timeline Planning Workshop)
- Administration and Finance (including an in-depth Budgeting Workshop)
- Recruiting and Admissions
- Pastoral Care and Mentoring
