First Pres Fellows

Colorado Springs, Colorado

Program Description

First Pres Fellows is a nine-month, professional and leadership development program for recent college graduates. Twelve young men and women from diverse backgrounds and professions encourage and support one another to explore who they are and their own unique roles within God’s mission of redemption and restoration in this world.

The program takes an interactive, hands-on learning approach. The fellows gain valuable experience through paid professional internships; dig deep into the needs of others through church and community service; and develop meaningful, multi-generational relationships within the church and a host family. They do all of this while considering together the theology of vocation, service, leadership and society in the context of God’s Kingdom in this world. Providing the theological and practical bases to flourish, the program is designed such that the fellows can “take aim and start well” in their careers, faith and lives.

First Presbyterian Church is situated in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. With outstanding relationships throughout the community, the church continues to serve the city in the name of Christ and provide key leadership since 1872. Pikes Peak (el. 14,115’) towers over the beautiful downtown center, making for a skyline rivaled by few. Many top companies, development and relief organizations, ministries, and government agencies are located in the city; maybe most notable is the US Olympic Committee and Training Center. In 2018 Colorado Springs was recognized by US News and World Report as the second most desirable city to live in the US. The strong economy, diverse social life, and spectacular scenery are evident from the first day you arrive. You can go from a vibrant moment in the city to an exceptional outdoor experience in the Rocky Mountains in just minutes.

Come join us for the best year of your life, learning all that God’s calling is for you, right in the heart of Colorado. Visit our website for more details or feel free to contact our director Floyd Sebald.
