The Wesley Fellows program seeks to teach young women and men how to become faithful disciples of Jesus Christ in their way of being, workplace, worship community and the world in order to equip fellows to deepen their Christian faith, understand their vocation and live a life wholly devoted to God’s kingdom.

Through professional development, community engagement, theological training and other guided experiences, Fellows learn how to embrace ministry as a way of life, regardless of career path.

Floris United Methodist Church (Floris UMC) hosts the Wesley Fellows program in the heart of Herndon, VA, a growing town in Northern Virginia. Located only 20 miles outside Washington, D.C. and neighboring Dulles International Airport, this gateway to the nation’s capital has a vast array of vocational opportunities in information technology, business, finance, non-profits, Christian ministry and several other fields of interest. The Dulles Corridor, the area along the border between Loudoun and Fairfax Counties in Northern Virginia, has been described as one of the “top technology corridors in the nation” by the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce. This technology center, which includes Herndon and the neighboring towns of Reston and parts of Fairfax, was labeled the “Silicon Valley of the East” in 2011 by The Atlantic magazine. With a burgeoning technology industry and businesses both big and small, this area of Northern Virginia promises excellent employment and networking opportunities for students of all backgrounds, making Herndon, Virginia and the surrounding area a prime place for any recent college graduate to start their career.
